Thanks for posting a comment. Going into the tunnel of final doom I get kinda busy, and posting stuff gets put off. I know I got lots to say but it's all jumbled up in the head. Got a bunch of 5 gallon buckets that had pickles in them and I'm filling them up, got another milk goat and a couple of wiener pigs, and it's finally cowpea planting time.

Naw, I don't worry about "the man". Hells bells, a guy like me, humble little ol' shoeshine, is a total non problem when the cities erupt and suburbia wails and moans for their good life entitlements. I've positioned myself out here in the weeds needing nutin' from nobody and have the same amount to pass out. I wanted to give Kevin the 65 bucks for signing up with bluehost via cryptogon. I wasn't thinking about traffic. Jim Beam sent me 9 months worth of web hosting fees so's I just pass the favor along.

I'll pop by the campfire soon - got it bookmarked.
edit
Jumpin jehosephat!! Just saw the post on cryptogon. Now I get what you were referring too. Well, there's my 15 minutes of fame, eh?

Comradesimba,

Good to see you back at it. Missed you at the troutclan campfire.

Wish I had it easier getting firewood. It's a 30 mile trip one way to get free wood from a post company. Not very good stuff, but for the price of gas and maintenance it's better than driving 35-40 miles to BLM land and seeing if I can get withing some reasonable distance to downed trees to haul back rounds to split up. Either that or pay $130 per cord for rounds locally.

We haven't gotten the rain you have, but until this last week, it frosted every night so we were hustling around keeping garden and greenhouse stuff from dying. Haven't lost anything yet. Whew!

Yup, it's coming, in some form or another. Exactly what and how big is what is being argued about these days. We are also becoming rather cynical about those that have a million excuses to not do anything to get ready. Best laid plans and actions may not be enough, but gave it the old effort.

Wish a couple of hens would get broody. May not be able to buy replacement chicks after this year.

Our compost bin keeps getting laid low by the chickens. Not eating so much commercial food and crops full by evening and eggs are great. Wife got our out-of-the-way little community of 1500 to look at sustainability, community gardens, etc. I'd be more excited about all of this if we were 30 years younger.

Keep the faith brother and be ready.
